The Postcard Robot is an ongoing performance art piece with the Walking Galleries monthly shows at the Pomona Art Walk. The piece brings Artist and Viewer together, inspiring new ideas about  what art is, and can be.

As the Postcard Robot, Merdoc dispenses our handmade cards to any viewers  that are willing to engage the Robot. This engagement transforms the viewer into an active participant  in the performance.

We hope to explore where a work of art  begins and ends. Is the art the cutting of a wood block ? Or is it in the inking and printing. Can the dialog between the Robot and the Viewer be considered art? Does the piece end with the viewer walking away with her postcard, or continue each time the story is told about how she acquired the postcard?
